(1) The basic requirement specified in EN 166 : 1995 clause 7.1 must be satisfied for basic usage and for all other applications

(2) If the S, F, B and A symbols are not the same for the lens and the frame, then the lowest level should be assigned to the complete eye protection.
EN 166 2001: the letter T immediately after the impact letter allows a use for high speed particles at extremes of temperature.
(3) A face shield for usage range with symbol 8 must be fitted with a scale number 2-1,2 or 3-1,2 and its minimum thickness must be 1.2mm.
(4) For eye protection satisfying usage range symbole 9, the frame and the glass must both be marked with this symbol and one of the symbols F, B or A.
