Dielectric Boot Resistance Data.
Every Dielectric boot is tested to EN50321
before leaving the factory.Dielectric boots
will withstand a voltage of 20KV plus for over 8 hours. To carry out
this test, the boot is filled with steel balls to 40mm from the top
of the boot and immersed in water to the same height.
Whilst the EN 50321 standard requirement is only
10KV for 3 minutes, using the same test method on Dielectric boots
at 5KV, the leakage current is <5mA. An additional test is carried
out at 7.5 KV where the leakage current is 7.5mA.
The sole will withstand over 35KV for 1 minute
when filled with steel balls to a level just above the ankle.
Dielectric boots surpass the following
international standards.
